The Lightning Thief

Before I say anything else: I am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

Yesterday I went and saw the movie, and being the fan that I am, I absolutely hated it. Like all book-movies, half the actual story was skipped. There were many random scenes that had no place and were completely irrelevant. Most of the characters' appearances were totally off, and so were the sets. They also had things from the second book in it.
For example, Annabeth is supposed to look like this:

Then how did they get this? Some of the most important things were entirely skipped. I don't know if they'll be making the rest of the books into movies as well, but if they do, then it will be hard because the stories of the rest of them are based on what happens in the first book. If you don't have those simple things in the first movie, then you can't make the second one. If you can't make the second, you can't make the third, and so on.

However, I won't say it was a waste of time. It makes sense to delete some things for time's sake. Even without most of the story, it was still two and a half hours long. And if you ignore the book, the movie was pretty good . (Although I still don't understand why most of the audience consisted of four and five year olds.) Really, the only problem I had was how inaccurate it was. I would definitely recommend watching the movie.
